At Thrive America, we believe that generational discipleship and civic engagement go hand in hand.

Our Founder and CEO

Andrea Sheldon Lafferty is a bold and creative force of nature who brings unique insight into the workings of Washington, D.C., and the halls of Congress. Andrea is known for her forward-thinking strategy, whereby faith-based citizens are engaged in a new way to influence government leaders and the culture. Andrea, believes that faith belongs in government, and our political leaders should be responsive to our nation’s foundational Judeo-Christian roots.

She is the former Executive Director and President of Traditional Values Coalition, and Women for a Great America. She started her career in the Conservative Christian movement as a staffer on Capitol Hill and eventually served as a political appointee in the Reagan and Bush administrations; including the G7 Summit for world leaders. Andrea has served as a legislative strategist, policy expert, political commentator, media spokesperson, and popular speaker at national events. From appearing on TV and radio interviews, to testifying before Congress multiple times, Andrea is a powerful voice for the nationwide community she represents.

Over the years, much of Andrea’s work has involved grassroots activism and mobilization, reaching millions in the faith-based community. Andrea has mobilized her grassroots coalition for EVERY major SCOTUS battle since Justice Clarence Thomas. The mobilization of black pastors on behalf of Justice Clarence Thomas, that Andrea led and facilitated, secured Justice Clarence Thomas’ confirmation. Such mobilization had never occurred before.

Knowing that diverse coalitions are sometimes required to win, Andrea has long worked across both political and ideological lines to accomplish a victory. Such crossover work has included work with the ACLU.

One thing Andrea is best known for among her family, friends and fans, is her big heart. Always ready with an open door or a warm meal, people that meet Andrea know they can rely on her.

Andrea went to Oral Robert University and grew up immersed in Billy Graham's Jesus Movement. She is a mother to Daniel and a widow to Jim . When she’s not working on behalf of her newest endeavor, the Thrive America Foundation, you can find Andrea opening up her heart and home to those in need. She has personally cared for children from broken homes, served as a mentor to teenagers and struggling moms. She is actively restoring an historic property next to the Library of Congress to be a center for strategic meetings, prayer, training, and influence in DC. She also enjoys long walks around Capitol Hill with her dog Lily.

Our Four Pillars of Cultural Renewal

  • We empower families to disciple the next generation and stand for truth in an increasingly confused and divided culture.

  • We partner with faith leaders and congregations to nurture biblical conviction, courage, and cultural clarity within the Body of Christ.

  • We advocate for public policies that reflect Judeo-Christian values and safeguard the moral foundations of our communities and nation.

  • We engage with key institutions to restore integrity, accountability, and alignment with enduring truths that uphold a flourishing society.
